1.1 Information You Provide

When you contact us through email or any contact form on the site, you may provide personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, and your message. This information is submitted voluntarily. We do not collect personal information unless you choose to give it.

If you participate in future features such as mock tests, portfolio uploads, or college inquiry forms, you may also provide academic details (year of study, target exam, city). All such data is handled under the principles described in this policy.

1.2 Analytics and Usage Data

ShapeVerse uses Cloudflare built-in analytics to understand how visitors interact with the site. Cloudflare collects anonymised, aggregated data such as page views, visitor counts, geographic region (country level), device type, and referring URL. Cloudflare does not use cookies or fingerprinting for analytics and does not build individual visitor profiles.

We may also use standard server access logs, which may capture IP addresses, browser type, operating system, referring pages, and timestamps. These logs are used solely for security monitoring and diagnosing technical issues. Log data is retained only as long as operationally necessary.

1.3 Cookies

ShapeVerse itself sets minimal first-party cookies for session management and user preferences. However, third-party services we use - including Google AdSense - may set their own cookies on your device. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings at any time. Blocking certain cookies may affect the functionality of some features on the site.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Responding to enquiries: When you email or contact us, we use your name and email to reply. We do not add you to any mailing list without explicit consent.
• Improving the site: Aggregated analytics help us understand which guides and tools are most useful so we can prioritise improvements.
• Security and fraud prevention: Server logs help us detect and prevent abuse or malicious activity on the platform.
• Advertising: We serve Google AdSense ads to keep ShapeVerse free for all users. See Section 4 for details.
• Legal compliance: We may retain or disclose information if required by applicable Indian law or lawful government request.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

3. Data Retention

Contact form submissions and emails are retained for up to 24 months unless a longer period is required by law. Server access logs are retained for up to 90 days for security purposes and then deleted. Aggregated analytics data (non-personal) may be retained indefinitely.

4. Google AdSense and Advertising

ShapeVerse uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites across the internet. These are third-party cookies that ShapeVerse does not directly control.

ShapeVerse contains links to external websites including official exam portals, government sites, and other educational resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those external sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit through a link on ShapeVerse. The inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement.

6. Data Security

ShapeVerse is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which provides TLS/HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, DDoS protection, and a global content delivery network. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect any personal information you share with us.

7. Children's Privacy

ShapeVerse is designed for design aspirants who are typically 17 years of age and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us at hello@shapeverse.in and we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

8. Your Rights

Under applicable Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and associated rules, you have the right to know what personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion (subject to legal retention obligations), withdraw consent, and lodge a complaint if you believe your data has been handled unlawfully.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of ShapeVerse after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.

10. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the IT (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.
