NIFT Daman is a relatively new addition to the NIFT network, established in 2021 to serve students interested in modern textile design and fashion technology. Located in the Union Territory of Daman and Diu on India's western coast, the campus occupies a strategically important position in the country's textile landscape. Daman's proximity to Surat, often called the Manchester of India, gives students unparalleled access to one of the world's largest textile manufacturing hubs.

The primary focus of NIFT Daman is modern apparel manufacturing and synthetic textile design. While heritage textile traditions define campuses like Varanasi, Daman emphasizes technical textiles, polyester design, and contemporary apparel production. This specialisation reflects the region's dominant textile industries, which produce everything from industrial fabrics to high-performance sportswear and technical textiles for global brands. Students at Daman learn both design fundamentals and the technical aspects of modern textile production.

NIFT Daman offers B.Des programmes in Fashion Design and Textile Design. The smaller intake of 60 students total (with approximately 45 seats for B.Des) ensures that each student receives substantial mentorship and hands-on learning opportunities. The intimate campus environment fosters strong peer collaboration and deeper engagement with faculty. Admission is merit-based through the NIFT Entrance Exam, which includes the Creative Ability Test (CAT), General Ability Test (GAT), and Situation Test for B.Des shortlisted candidates.

The fee structure at NIFT Daman ranges from approximately Rs 5 to Rs 8 lakhs for the 4-year B.Des programme, making it highly affordable compared to private design colleges. The campus was designed with modern infrastructure, including digital design labs, dyeing and printing facilities, and industry-standard manufacturing equipment that mirrors what students will encounter in professional settings.
