NIT Calicut: Department of Architecture and Planning

NIT Calicut was established in 1961 as the Regional Engineering College Calicut (now National Institute of Technology Calicut). The college holds NAAC A++ accreditation and is part of India's National Institutes of Technology system, a network of premier government engineering colleges. The Department of Architecture and Planning offers B.Arch and M.Plan programmes with full Council of Architecture approval.

The college is located in Kozhikode on the Arabian Sea coast in Kerala, one of India's culturally and architecturally rich regions. Admission to B.Arch at NIT Calicut is through JEE Main Paper 2 via JOSAA centralised counselling, with approximately 30 seats per year distributed across all-India merit and home state quotas. This admissions pathway is distinct from NATA colleges and makes NIT Calicut accessible only to students who qualify JEE Main. Placement outcomes for NIT Calicut B.Arch graduates include positions in government architecture offices, state planning boards, and architecture practices across India and internationally.
